Hays County Emergency Information

Hays County Local Health Department today reports 75 new cases of COVID-19. On June 27, the County reported its sixth COVID-related fatality; the individual was a San Marcos woman in her 70s.

Epidemiologist Eric Schneider said the County’s total of lab-confirmed cases is 2,661; of those, 2,233 are considered active. The total number of individuals considered recovered is 422. The number of negative tests is 7,080. Schneider is awaiting results on 73 tests. Hays County has had 62 total hospitalizations; 19 people are currently hospitalized.

“The best way to slow down the current surge in cases,” Schneider said, “is for all Hays County residents to work together. We strongly recommend these simple yet effective techniques – wearing masks, staying distanced and washing our hands often – to help our community.”
