Hays County Emergency Information

Hays County Local Health Department today reports 126 new cases, two new hospitalizations, one person released from the hospital and 11 additional recoveries.

Epidemiologist Eric Schneider said the County’s total of lab-confirmed cases is 3,050; of those, 2,549 are considered active. The total number of individuals considered recovered is 494. The number of negative tests is 7,578. Schneider is awaiting results on 58 tests. Hays County has had 64 total hospitalizations; 18 people are currently hospitalized.

“All Hays County residents can help us slow the spread,” Schneider said. “No matter your age or profession, by following recommend health guidelines, including staying distanced, wearing a mask and washing your hands often, we can do this together as a community.”

Hays County offices are closed tomorrow, Friday, July 3, in observance of Independence Day. Weekend reports will consist of new cases only; full demographic breakdowns will be included in Monday’s update.
