Hays County Emergency Information

Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports two (2) COVID-related fatalities, a Dripping Springs woman in her 70s and a Creedmoor man in his 40s. The department also reports 158 new lab-confirmed cases along with five (5) new hospitalizations and eight (8) new hospital discharges. There are 563 additional persons considered recovered. The total number of persons considered recovered is 11,863.

The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 14,640. Hays County has 2,600 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 3,799 active cases. Hays County has had 636 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 37 people are currently hospitalized.

The next vaccine appointment portal will open at noon this coming Friday, Jan. 29. On that day, at that time, residents can go to haysinformed.com to find the sign-up link. The info will also be on the County’s official Facebook page. Please note, no one can sign up now and there is not a waiting list. The appointment sign-up website will open this Friday at 12 p.m.

For anyone without internet access or a smartphone, they can call this number beginning at noon on Friday, Jan. 29: 512-938-1650. IMPORTANT: No one will answer the phone prior to that time.

Receive Text Alerts: The County now has a text alert option so you can receive a text with vaccine updates. Text COVID to 844-928-3213 to sign up for the alerts. Please note, that number will not put anyone’s name on a registration list; it is means of receiving updates and alerts about COVID-related information. Hays County does not have a sign-up list for vaccines.
