Hays County Emergency Information

Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports three (3) COVID-related fatalities: a Kyle man in his 70s, a Kyle male in his 60s and a Wimberley female in her 70s.

The department also reports 204 new lab-confirmed cases, 10 new hospitalizations and seven (7) new hospital discharges, along with 248 additional people now considered recovered.

The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County is 11,162 with 1,690 current active cases. The County has had 2,419 active cases in the last 21 days. There are 78,451 negative tests overall. The total number of recoveries is 9,336. Hays County has had 575 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 39 people are currently hospitalized.

Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra reminds Hays County residents that higher numbers of hospitalizations can lead to additional restrictions under the Governor’s current plan. Hays County is in Hospital Region O.

“Once our hospital region hits the 15 percent mark for seven consecutive days,” he said, “that will trigger certain closures or restrictions throughout Hays County businesses and organizations. Please folks, wear your masks, wash your hands and stay home unless it’s necessary to go out.”

See the Department of State Health Services website for more about hospitalization capacity in Region O.
