City officials have issued a boil water notice for residents who use City water services on the north side of the city from Aquarena Springs to Yarrington. All other residents can continue to use city water.
Residents in this area are advised to follow the steps below before consuming water.
• Fill a pot with water.
• Heat the water until bubbles come from the bottom of the pot to the top.
• Once the water reaches a rolling boil, let it boil for 1 minute.
• Turn off the heat source and let the water cool.
• Pour the water into a clean container with a cover for storage.
Can I use the water for drinking purposes?
The water cannot be used for drinking until it is properly sterilized by bringing it to a rolling boil for one minute. This includes water used for infant formula and juice, cooking, making ice, washing fruits and vegetables, and brushing teeth.
Can I take a bath or shower?
Bathing or showering is safe.
Does an installed water treatment device make the water safe?
Water used for drinking purposes should be brought to a rolling boil (for one minute) before it is used. This applies to water used for infant formula and juices, cooking, making ice, washing fruits and vegetables, and brushing teeth.
